'A Pittara is an Italian farm on a natural terrace overlooking the beautiful Tyrrhenian sea, 180 m above sea level. It is close to the beach(3.2 km) and to the charming historical town of Tropea(10 km).The farm nestles between a luxuriant olive grove and a flourishing vineyard, and is an ideal position for one to explore the local countryside, to enjoy the unique panoramas of some of the most beautiful Calabrian beaches (Pizzuta, Tonnara, St. Irene)and a delightful view of Tropea with the Eolian Islands in the background. A place to savour a quiet, restful nature-loving holiday,the farm offers ample opportunities to relax in the shade of an olive grove in total comfort, or to go for walks and bike-rides in the immediate vicinity.
Sightseeing
The ancient town centre of Tropea,with its Norman cathedral, old portals and the church of St.Mary of the Island, built on a small island. The Bronzi di Riace in the museum of Reggio Calabria, the historical town of Gerace, Serra S. Bruno with its Certosa.

The Farm Holiday buildings
The structure of the farm is very simple. A beautifully renovated wine cellar forms the main building where the restaurant and the five bedrooms are located, all on ground floor.Three of the bedrooms have a patio. Nearby, two confortable apartaments have been created by careful renovation of an ex-pigsty and a stable.

Cuisine
READY MEALS, takeaway, the local cusine typical CALABRESE,by appointment.  The well-known red Tropean onions, cultivated on the spot  and used to prepare delicious dishes, the original  'nduja (a local, typical, spreadable spicy salami) from nearby Spilinga, extra virgin oil, locally produced liquers,almonds,vine,  farmhouse preserves, such as red onion preserve, spicy pepper preserve and various jams and marmalades. 'A pittara is an I.M.C.certified biological farm.

The restaurant is recommended  in the guide  " VIEDELGUSTO " 2006-2007.
